January 27, 2014: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie welcomed to the Embassy the incoming and outgoing Heads of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research’s (UNITAR’s) Hiroshima Office, Ms. Mihoko Kumamoto and Mr. Brandon Turner, respectively.
The Ambassador took the opportunity, on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to welcome Ms. Kumamoto, to whom he expressed a willingness to cooperate hereon, and to laud and express thanks for the great efforts that Mr. Turner has put forth in supporting the development of Afghanistan’s motivated officials. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie further praised overall the great work that UNITAR has done, citing it as an organization that has brought forth true results.
Ms. Kumamoto kindly pledged as the Head of the Hiroshima Office, she will work to extend cooperation with Afghanistan, such as through the fellowship program. She kindly requested the advice of the Ambassador in reaching this goal.
