Mr. Hamdard Attends the Welcome Reception of the Japanese Language Program for Foreign-service Officers and Public Officials


October 18th, 2018: Mr. Basir Ahmad Hamdard, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. for the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Japan, had the honor of attending the Welcome Reception of the Japanese Language Program for Foreign-service officers and Public officials at Hotel Monterey Hanzomon. The opening remarks were given by H.E. Ms. Toshiko Abe, States Minister for Foreign Affairs, who spoke on the importance of the Japan Foundation's Language Program in preparing diplomats who may have mission in japan in the future with the essential skills necessary to perform optimally during their mission.


At the event, Mr. Hamdard cordially welcomed and congratulated all the participants in the program and wished them a fruitful experience, particularly Mr. Abdul Sattar Daulaty, the participant from Afghanistan. He further asserted that the success of the program would surely contribute to the expansion and enhancement of the diplomatic relations between all countries involved. From 2008-2009 Mr. Hamdard had the honor to participate in the Japanese-Language Programs for Foreign-Service Officers & Public Officials. Therefore, he expressed his sincere thank on behalf of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for the support and assistant of the Japan Foundation over the years in helping to enhance the human capacity development of Afghanistan. Both Mr. Hamdard and Mr. Daulaty presented H.E. Ms. Abe with a gift of appreciation on behalf of the people and Government of Afghanistan to express the gratefulness for the benevolent and steadfast support of the noble nation of Japan over the years.


In return, H.E. Ms. Abe thanked them for their kind words and assured that Japan and the Japan Foundation would continue to promote programs to help Afghanistan continue their forward progress. He assured that all upcoming Foreign-Service Officers and Public Officials participants would have outstanding achievements after completing the program. While at the event Mr. Hamdard had the pleasure meeting with several on the incoming participants with whom he shared tips and advice , as well as met with other diplomats and missions in Japan, participants in the program and other dignified guests all present and honored in the occasion.
