Mr. Hamdard Attends the UNIVERSAL PEACE FEDERATION, 35th Peace Diplomats Forum and Becomes Ambassador for Peace.

April 3, 2019: It was an honor and pleasure for Mr. Basir Ahmad Hamdard, First Secretary, to attend the UNIVERSAL PEACE FEDERATION’s 35th Peace Diplomats Forum entitled " Labor Market Trends and Recent Policies about Foreign Workers in Japan" and be honored into membership as an ‘Ambassador for Peace’ at the United Nations Headquarters Building in Shibuya.

Launched in 2001, ‘Ambassadors for Peace’ is the largest and most diverse network of peace leaders. They come from all walks of life representing many races, religions, nationalities, and cultures, and commit to: stand on the common ground of universal moral principles, promoting reconciliation, overcoming barriers, and building peace; form a global network representing the diversity of the human family and all disciplines of endeavor; promote cooperation beyond boundaries of religion, race, ethnicity, and nationality; and practice “living for the sake of others” as the guiding principle for building a global community.

On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mr. Hamdard thanked the organizers of the event for hosting such a wonderful ceremony and forum, as well as the people and Governments of all International countries who have helped Afghanistan, most notably of Japan, for continuing to stand with and benevolently support Afghanistan on her road to progress, prosperity, and peace. Further, in his remarks to those present, he thanked them for being role models of peace and the leaders for the kind of peace which Afghanistan has been looking to institute within itself for so long. Moreover, he expressed his sincerest wish that one day not only Afghans but all the citizens of the world could enjoy a true and lasting peace; and that as Afghan have struggled and suffered for almost 40 years that this coming year would be the year of peace for Afghanistan.
